The Police last week arraigned a 31 year old clearing agent, Rotimi Adisa, for stealing two vehicles with other goods valued at N3.1million belonging to an importer in Apapa. He was arraigned at an Apapa Magistrates court.
The Prosecutor, Sergeant Onaiwu Iyobosa, told the court that the defendant sometime in August 2018 stole on Ford Galaxy bus valued at N1.2million, Ford Mavrice jeep valued at N1.5million with some assorted goods valued at N400, 000 making a total value of N3.1million.
She identified the importer as Ashamu Adeleke.
Iyobosa, also said that the offences are punishable under section 281 of the criminal law of Lagos state 2015.
The defendant, who is facing a one count charge of stealing, pleaded not guilty of the offence brought against him.
The Magistrate, Mr. O.S Abioye granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 with two registered sureties.
He also said that the sureties must be gainfully employed and must furnish the court with evidence of tax payment to the Lagos state government.
Mr. Abioye who said that the sureties must provide their photographs, he also said that they must provide their account statements and their addresses which must be verified by the court.
