The National Publicity Secretary of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), Mr. Stanley Ezenga, has applauded the on-going customs e-auction introduced by the Comptroller General of Customs, Col Hameed Ali (Rtd).
Mr. Ezenga said this recently in a chat with Shipping Position Daily in Lagos.
Speaking during the chat, he maintained that though at the initial stage, the platform had some hic ups where some fraudulent individuals wanted to use high bidding to scare people away, but the Nigeria Customs Service through its efforts has been able to sanitise the system thereby giving every individual the opportunity to participate.
“Even though I have tried so many times to get a vehicle through the process, but I have not been lucky, I will say that the platform is very transparent. In the beginning, the platform had some initial hic ups were some individuals are using big money bids to scare participants way but the customs have been able to sanitise the platform. If you visit the platform now you will agree with me that it is very transparent and you will see competition”
He also said that there is no much problem with vehicles coming into the country through seaports.
