The Nigeria Customs Service has said the policy restricting vehicles from the land border will create more jobs for Nigeria.
National Public Relations Officer, Nigeria Customs Service, Mr. Joseph Attah said that the restriction of vehicles from land borders by the federal government would create job opportunities for Nigerians as against insinuations that the policy might lead to job lost.
Attah stated this on a television programme last week , even as he maintained that clearing and buying of vehicles from Cotonou to Nigeria make no economic sense .
He added that ‘’most Nigerians go there to pick three or four ,five and more from their car parks and when they buy all the vehicles, they pay all the charges’’
He stated that the buyers or importers can do such within Nigeria as ways to boost job opportunities.
The spokesman maintained that the policy was in the right tract adding that it would create more jobs for Nigerians.
