The container carrier CMA CGM started regular calling at Russian Port of Bronka in Baltic Sea. The shipping operator added the new container terminal in the port into its St Petersburg Shuttle Service D, connecting Russia with Rotterdam and Hamburg. CMA CGM involves in the loop two container carriers – Vladimir and Voronezh, each with capacity of 1730 TEU. The vessels will have weekly schedule call at the port and will improve the trade and import/export of the Russian port. The new route connects Port of Bronka with Rotterdam and Hamburg and from there with the world’s largest terminals. The Port of Bronka is built on the southern coast of the Gulf of Finland, near important routes, connecting the port with inner country.
At the end of 2015, CMA CGM has signed long-term contract for the handling and storage of containerized cargo with Russian company Phoenix, which aimed to add the Port of Bronka into the weekly schedule of French shipping operator. The first call into the port was made by container carrier Voronezh in end of January, while the next call is today by container carrier Vladimir.
The new Baltic sea Port of Bronka is modern and high-efficient, having container terminal, Ro-Ro cargo terminal and logistics center. The total area of the port is 207 hectares. The container terminal have 5 berths with total length of 1220 m and the total capacity of 1.45 million TEU.
The container carrier Voronezh (IMO: 9322011) has overall length of 184.00 m, moulded beam of 25.30 m and maximum draft of 8.00 m. The deadweight of the ship is 22,749 DWT and the gross tonnage of 16,803 GRT. The vessel was built in 2008 by New Szczecin Shipyard in Poland and owned by Russian company Fesco and operated by CMA CGM.
