The Police have arraigned one Mr. Chukwuemeka Stanley, age 29 before an Apapa magistrate court sitting in Lagos for alleged stealing of telephone and money, belonging to a clearing agent; Mr. Adeola Seyi Taiwo.
The alleged thief is facing a three count charge bothering on conspiracy and stealing.
The prosecutor, Inspector Benedict Aigbokhan, told the court that the defendant, with others at large committed the offences on the 22nd day of May, 2018 at about 6:20pm along Apapa Oshodi expressway in Lagos.
The prosecutor added that defendant with others at large stole a Samsung Galaxy Prime valued at N86,000 from Mr. Adeola Seyi Taiwo.
The charge sheet read: "The defendant did conspire together to commit felony to wit, stealing and thereby committed and offence punishable under section 41 of the criminal laws of Lagos state, 2015"
"That you Chukwuemeka and others at, on the same day, time and place, in the aforementioned magisterial district, did steal one Samsung Galaxy Prime, valued at N86,000 property of one Adeola Seyi Taiwo and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 287 of the criminal laws of Lagos state of Nigeria 2015".
The prosecutor, alleged further that Chukwuemeka Kingsley also fraudulently transferred the sun of N300, 000 from the bank account of Adeola Taiwo Seyi
In her ruling, Magistrate Joy Ugbomoiko, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200, 000 and two sureties in the like sum.
The case was adjourned till 25th of July.
