A former President of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), Dr. Eugene Nweke, has assured that ‘independent candidates’ who were disqualified from contesting in the coming elections into the governing council of the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) will not go to court to seek redress.
In a statement signed by Nweke, he said that for the love and commitment for the development of the profession, the disqualified candidates would not go to court.
It will be recalled that apart from Dr. Nweke, other candidates disqualified are: the president of the Institute of Freight Forwarders on Nigeria, (IFFN), Dr. Zebulon Ikokide, Omotosho Francis and Lawal Isiaka
Explaining further, Nweke said, the disqualification is the price he had to pay for a peaceful election and his resolve is a simple demonstration of his passion for the profession.
“The four of us that stood in as independent candidates, did so with a mindset to add credence to the electioneering process. It is for the love and commitment for the development of our profession that I and other independent candidates, shall not resort to court of competent jurisdiction to seek redress, in the face of an open threat to our life, and against obvious political manipulation and intrigues that played out pre and during the screening exercise”, he stressed.
He also reiterated that the disqualified candidates decided not to go to court in other not to further delay the process of revamping the council.
