A 33year old Akinola Akinwunmi Muri, was on Tuesday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrate court for stealing 4,089 metric tons raw Cocoa beans valued at N6, 337, 950.
The cocoa beans belong to Skysea Services Nig Ltd of number 31b Commercial Road, Apapa.
Arraigning the suspect, Prosecutor, Inspector F. Azu, said that the accused committed the offence on the 27th of August 2018 in Apapa.
In his two count charges, the prosecutor said that, “On the 11th day of April 2018 at Apapa in the aforementioned magisterial district, the accused did steal 24 bags of raw cashew-nuts valued at, One Million and Seventy Thousand Naira (N1, 70000. 00), property of SKYSEA SERVICES Nigeria Ltd at number 31b Commercial Road, Apapa and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 287 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos state of Nigeria 2015”
Azu, also said that the accused also on the same magisterial district connived with others now at large and committed felony.
“That you, Akinola Akinwunmi Muri, and others now at large between 11th of April and 2nd day of August 2018 at Apapa, in the Apapa magistrate district, did conspire amongst yourselves to commit felony to wit stealing and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos state of Nigeria, 2015”
Akinola, however denied not committing the offence .
The Magistrate, Mr. M.K Fadeyi granted the accused bail of N1 million with two sureties in the like sum.
Fadeyi, adjourned the case till 3rd October 2018.
