Drug smugglers tried to bring 200 kilogrammes of cocaine into Germany by hiding it in a batch of coffee, Customs Authorities in the Northern city of Hamburg said on Monday.
The illicit cargo, which was found in 210 parcels packed together with large sacks of coffee, has a street value of about 34 million dollars, customs spokesman Stephan Meyns said.
The coffee had been shipped from Brazil.
The company it was addressed to, alerted customs on Nov.1, after spotting the suspicious packages, Meyns said.
