An Apapa magistrates court sitting in Lagos has on Tuesday remanded an 18 year old; Chinonso Ewulu for robbery.
According to the Prosecutor, Inspector F. Asu, the defendant has been remanded in prison pending the advice from the Department of Public Prosecution (DPP) due to the nature of the case.
Explaining further, he said that the accused can be granted bail or not pending the outcome of the advice from DPP.
Inspector Asu also said that the defendant with others who are now at large, on the 10th day of February 2019 at about 0100 hours at No 54 Goriola Street, Ajegunle stole an Infinix handset.
He told the court that you with others now at large did conspire among yourself to commit robbery.
According to him, the defendant “did steal Infinix handset valued at N45, 000 with actual violation to one Barileela Tobasi"
He also accused the defendant of stealing from Barileela Tobasi.
"You stole the sum of N600, 000 from a FCMB account belonging to Barileela Tobasi"
He said that the defendant committed a three count charge bordering on conspiracy, stealing and robbery adding that the offences are punishable under sections, 299, 287 and 297 of the criminal laws of Lagos state 2015.
The Magistrate, Mr. M.O Olubi adjourned the case till 25th of March 2019 for hearing.
