Two suspects; Mrs. Joy Ado and Mr. John Attah, were on Tuesday arraigned before and Apapa Magistrate court for impersonating personnel of the Nigerian Military.
The suspects, Ado and Attah, are facing a three count charge bordering on conspiracy, impersonation and unlawful possession of military camouflage.
The Prosecutor, Sergeant Onaiwu Iyobosa, said that the accused committed the offences on November 22 at Apapa magisterial district.
According to the charge sheet", “Mrs. Joy Ado of Room 1, Batcher 6, Bonny camp, VI and Mr. John Attah of Intelligent camp, Flat 9, Block 10, Ojo cantonment, Lagos, Apapa magisterial district on November 10 did conspire among yourselves to commit an offence".
Iyobosa, also said that the suspects presented themselves as Nigerian Army personnel.
He added , "that you on the same date, time and place, at the aforementioned magisterial district being civilians, did present yourselves to be Nigerian Army personnel's"
"That you on the same date, time and place, at the aforementioned magisterial district did unlawfully have in your possession, Army camouflage shirts and trousers uniforms"
He said that the offences are punishable under sections, 411, 77 and 79 Criminal law of Lagos state, of Nigeria 2015.
The suspects denied committing the offences brought against them.
The Magistrate, O. S Abioye, granted the suspects bail in the sum of N50, 000 with two sureties in the like sum.
He added that the sureties, who must be gainfully employed, must also furnish the court with evidence of tax payment and photograph verification of their addresses.
The case was adjourned to 20th of December 2018.
