Minister of Transportation, Mr Rotimi Amaechi and leading members of the National Assembly are expected in Lagos on Tuesday for two-day sensitization workshop being put together by the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN).
According to CRFFN’s Head, Corporate Affairs; Mrs Uromta Chinyere, the sensitization workshop is on freight forwarding as a career.
The statement added that, the workshop is in line with the Council’s new policy of ensuring that all freight forwarding practitioners acquire the necessary qualifications needed to practice, before the Council’s 2021 deadline.
Apart from the Minister of Transportation, some National Assembly members billed for the event include: Chairman of the Senate Committee on Marine Transport, Senator Danjuma Goje, Chairman, House of Representative Committee on Ports and Harbours, Honourable Garba Datti Muhammad, the Chairman House of Representatives Committee on Maritime Safety and Administration, Hon. Lynda Ikpeazu, and the Chairman House of Representatives Committee on Inland Waterways, Hon. Patrick Asadu.
The statement added that, knowledge-enriching workshop which is geared towards the fulfillment of the principle of Ease-of-Doing Business of the present dispensation would be flagged off by the Minister of Transportation, at Radisson Blu Hotel in Ikeja.
The statement further said that the programme was also in readiness of the Council to actualize its mandate of ensuring professionalism in the freight forwarding sub-sector of the economy.
