From all indications, there seems to be no end to the lingering crisis rocking the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), even as the association’s spokesperson, Mr Joe Sani has accused the National President, Tony Iju Nwabunike of abandoning his mandate as the president of the association.
The spokesperson also accused Nwabunike of gallivanting round the world, not minding the devastating effect of his attitude on the association and its members, especially those who elected him.
In a statement issued last week by the National Publicity Secretary of the association, a copy of which was sent to Shipping Position Daily, he also accused the Tony Nwabunike- led ANLCA administration of leaving the association in disarray.
He also said that the national president has left the association “in the hands of those who never meant well for it to continue decimating it with their half-baked knowledge and uncouth, unintelligent spews at every turn”.
“He has chosen to leave ANLCA in disarray, rudderless and, left in the hands of those who have never meant well for ANLCA to continue decimating it with their half-baked knowledge and uncouth, unintelligent spews at every turn” he said.
The NPS of ANLCA however reiterated that it is only ANLCA that “welcomes other stocks”, adding that other sister associations are predominantly of a particular stock.
“All other sister organizations are predominantly of a particular stock. It is only ANLCA that attracts, and welcomes other stocks, that willingly gravitates towards it as everyone is a joiner and no founders” he said.
Explaining further, he said that the two prominent members of ANLCA under attack are being used by those dominating other sister associations.
He alleged that: “When the crisis in ANLCA is analyzed comprehensively, it will be noted that two prominent members of the stock under attack are being used by those dominating other sister organizations to annihilate ANLCA to possible extinction”
“Unfortunately, these two pretend not to be aware of the ultimate game plan of those edging them on, because of the pecuniary advantages accruing to them now, and forgetting that a tomorrow will surely come”.
According to him, “On the other hand, Iju Tony Nwabunike is steadily and perhaps knowingly, casting an undeserved image on the generality of his stock, which is likely to be defined in the cloak of those who lack capacity to lead”.
On the way out of the lingering crisis, the ANLCA image maker urged the national president to call a mini National Executive Council Meeting (NEC) and render an unreserved apology.
He advised that: “Way out now is very simple. Hon. Tony IjuNwabunike should immediately call a mini National Executive Council meeting, with the sole agenda to reverse those very injurious injustices with unreserved apologies, recognize the BOT lead by Alhaji Taiwo Mustapha, adopt all actions taken by that board”.
He added that the president should “plead for the withdrawal of all cases instituted by aggrieved members, and then call a general reconciliatory meeting, for cessation-of-hostilities pronouncements, to the general public and to be widely publicized”.
Speaking further he said, “Alternatively and most honourably, he should resign for lack of capacity to tackle the ANLCA crisis, loss of legitimacy and moral high ground to superintend over ANLCA affairs any longer”
