The Apapa Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has commissioned a worship centre for stakeholders in the maritime industry.
The commissioning comes barely three months after laying the foundation of the Church building under the supervision of Nigerian Customs Christian Fellowship (NCCF).
Speaking shortly after commissioning the church, which is christened " Strong Tower Chapel", Assistant Comptroller General , Nigeria Customs Service, ACG,Charles Edike said that the idea of building a church within the command's complex was conceptualised when he was in charge of the Apapa command.
Edike who is also a Pastor thanked the management team of the command and other stakeholders that believed in the project.
In his sermon, Pastor Edike talked about hope and faith with reference point to the current situation of the country.
The immediate past controller of Apapa command said a negative and hopeless person cannot work and get result, adding that faith and hope work together for a smooth journey in any situation.
"From the top to the bottom, everybody needs hope to stay alive", her admonished.
The zonal coordinator however thanked the incumbent Customs Area Controller, Willy Egbudin for completing the building project,, even as he urged Nigerians to trust in God ,with hope.
He called on people to pray for the President of the country and indeed the Comptroller General of Customs for the growth of the nation's economy.
Speaking exclusively with Shipping Position Daily on Saturday, Customs Area Controller, Comptroller Egbudin said discipline, diligence and determination made it possible for the building to be erected at Apapa command.
Comptroller Egbudin described the "Strong Tower Chapel" as a citadel of Apapa, urging all stakeholders in the maritime sector to fellowship in the church.
He said there was no plan on ground to build a church within the command's premises but God was able to direct people on how to go about it.
