The Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) Ms Hadiza Bala Usman has said that arrangements are in top gear to receive Egina Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) Vessel at Lagos Deep Offshore Logistics Base (LADOL) facility in September.
Hadiza gave the indication in Lagos on Wednesday at the official commissioning of four new tug boats for the NPA at Dockyard road in Apapa, Lagos.
FPSO is a floating vessel located near an oil platform, where oil is processed and stored until it can be transferred to a tanker for transporting.
It was gathered on Wednesday that the Vessel is expected in September this year (2017) following the necessary approval obtained from the Federal Government by Lagos Deep Offshore Logistics (LADOL).
Already, LADOL has invested over $350million for the integration of the Floating Production Storage Offshore (FPSO) vessel for the Egina deep-water oil field.
The project, which is being handled by LADOL in a joint venture with South Korean giant, Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI).
