The Association of Igbo Maritime Practitioners of Nigeria (ASIMPIN) has excommunicated two of its members, Comrade Alloy Anokwuru and Chief Lawrence Uba over what the association described as a verbal assault and insubordination.
In a communiqué which was jointly signed by the National Chairman, Austin Kelly and National Secretary, Chief Molokwu, last week, a copy of which was obtained by Shipping Position Daily, the council of elders of ASIMPIN excommunicated the two with effect from 11th day of July 2019.
The council added that the duo lack respect for constituted authority.
It reads: "You are roundly excommunicated indefinitely from all activities involving ASIMPIN in all its ramifications. The council of elders of the ASIMPIN wish you bounty harvest to the seed you have sown"
"It is only natural that you reap the fruit of your naked hypocrisy, flaming arrogance and uncultured pomposity, "it concluded.
Meanwhile, speaking with one of the affected members, Sir Alloy Anokwuru, he said he has nothing to say about that.
"I don't have time for that now, when I am ready we will talk I have a lot of other things occupying my mind"
It will be recalled that sometime in June 2019, the accused verbally insulted the elder forum of ASIMPIN via a social media post.
