The General Manager, Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA), Mr Oluwadamilola Emmanuel, has described the appointment of the new state Commissioner for Transportation, Dr Frederic Oladeinde, as a round peg in a round hole.
“The appointment of the new commissioner for transportation is a well thought-out choice and most suitable for the transportation sector in Lagos State.
“He is an expert in multimodal transportation policy and implementation. So I am expectant that he will bring his wide experience to bear in the running of the affairs of the ministry,” Emmanuel said on Thursday in Lagos.
He said that Oladeinde had a track record of performance, adding that he would not perform less during his tenure.
Emmanuel commended Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu for appointing Oladeinde as commissioner in the ministry, expressing the confidence that he would do everything possible to move public transport forward in the state.
He noted that the sector had always been lucky to be led by individuals who were passionate about effective management of public transport.
The general manager urged the new commissioner to give adequate attention to water transportation in order to take it to the next level.
