The Chief Executive Officer of Lekki Port Lagos Free Trade Zone Enterprise(LFTZE); Navin Nahata has lauded the Lagos State Government and Nigerian Ports Authority, NPA for their strong commitment in ensuring that the multi-billion Naira project remained on course. The state government and NPA are major partners in the development of the Lekki Port project.
Nahata stated this in Lagos last week after his meeting with the Lagos State Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Co-operatives, Mrs Olayinka Oladunjoye and the Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Hadiza Bala Usman in their respective offices.
According to him, the progress made so far in the project could not have been possible without NPA and the Lagos state government. He also commended the Minister of Transportation; Mr Rotimi Amaechi as well as other regulatory agencies for their commitment to ensuring that the deep sea port becomes a reality. Nahata also expressed gratitude to the host communities for being supportive of the project.
Nahata assured all stakeholders and partners that his team is working assiduously to deliver a world-class port that would make Nigeria the transshipment hub in West Africa.
The Chief Executive Officer expressed satisfaction with the level of work done so far on the project, adding that the first breakwater has reached an advance stage with over 235metres completed.
The Lagos State Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Co-operatives, Mrs. Olayinka Oladunjoye assured the management of Lekki Port of the commitment of the Governor Akinwumi Ambode-led administration towards the actualization of the project.
On her part, the Managing Director of NPA Hadiza Bala Usman reaffirmed the support of the Federal Government to the Lekki Port project, even as she lauded Lekki Port Lagos Free Trade Zone Enterprises for its excellent stakeholder engagement policy.
