Days after it was announced that the Lillypond Truck Transit Park has been concessioned to a private investor, the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has announced that the investors have started taking inventory of the terminal.
The General Manager, Corporate and Strategic Communications of NPA; Adams Jatto said this in a chat with Shipping Position Daily in Apapa last week.
Jatto however, explained that the exercise will enable the investor to submit their developmental plans for approval before actual operation.
“The Lillypond terminal has been handed over to a private investor to be deployed as a truck park. The investor is presently taking inventory with a view to submitting developmental plans for approval before actual operation. When the developmental plan has been approved and the operational agreement signed”, he said.
Meanwhile the General Manager, Security, NPA, Mr. Olugbenga Omotosho has also promised adequate security in the terminal, adding that the security arm of the agency will be partnering with the concessionaires to ensure maximum security at the facility.
“Things are programmed, it is scientific, the human interference is reduced and they are bringing in their own security system, so we are working together. Just like we work with the Police in the ports”, he said.
