The Police on Friday arraigned a 29 year old; Utip Obong Micheal before an Apapa magistrates court sitting in Lagos, for wearing Nigerian Navy T-shirt and trouser camouflage.
The Prosecutor; Sergeant Marvellous Ogbongho, told the court that the camouflage belongs to Nigeria Armed Forces.
Ogbongho, added that the defendant committed the offences on the 18th of March 2019 at about 19:30hours at Idi-Araba in Mushin, Lagos state.
The Prosecutor also said that the defendant conducted himself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by wearing the camouflage and walking in the streets of Lagos knowing full well that he is not a member of the Armed forces.
He said that the offences are punishable under sections 77 and 168(b) of the criminal laws of Lagos state 2015.
The defendant who is facing a two count charge on false misrepresentation and unlawful conduct pleaded not guilty to the offences.
The Magistrate, Miss K.A Ariyo granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50, 000 with two registered sureties in like sum.
The case was adjourned till 18th of April 2019.
