As preparations for chapter executive election of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) gets closer, the association has promised a free fair exercise come next year even as it applauded the performance of the National Executive Committee (NECOM) for diligently discharging its duties.
The association said this yesterday during the unveiling of the election timetable at NAGAFF headquarters in Lagos.
Speaking at the event, the National President of the association, Chief Uche Increase who was represented by the National Deputy President, Mr. Simon Agubanze also warned members to desist from any act that will amount to rigging of the election.
"I want to use this opportunity to say that it will not be possible to manipulate or rig this coming election as far as I am part of this system. We are very happy with what NECOM is doing, we have found them worthy to do the job and we are very hopeful that they will do the job well without rigging"
He also urged members not to be scared of favouritism and tribalism, adding that they should go about their campaign.
"Members should not be scared of favouritism and tribalism; contestants should go about their normal campaign"
Chief Increase also warned members to desist from character assassination in any form; he said this will not be tolerated in association.
"NAGAFF is one big family, if you think you will go about involving yourself in character assassination, just have at the back of your mind that you are on your way out of NAGAFF because it will not happen here", he stressed.
He also expressed his satisfaction with the calibre of candidates that have picked nomination forms.
