Ahead of the coming elections into the Governing Council of the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN), the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) said it is building up its resource base
Confirming this in a statement made available last week end by the Head Special Duty. NAGAFF, Emmanuel Agubanze, the founder of NAGAFF, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, directed the President of the association; Mr Increase Uche to make the N10 million available to the registration committee of CRFFN, from the money the association realised from its recent chapter elections.
He also charged members of the association to raise additional N30 million for what termed as “registration and logistics requirement for the coming election”.
He maintained that this time around the election is going to be cash for cash as he said that the association is not ready to go through another bitter experience.
"Mr. President is hereby directed by the Founder and the board to release additional ten million naira from our last election account to the registration committee in-charge of CRFFN election 2018. It is also expected that members of NAGAFF with means shall raise 30 million naira to add up registration and logistics requirements thereto for the coming election in Abuja:, the statement added.
It however stated that, “even though NAGAFF is in a good standing to win all seats during the election, we shall not take any chances again because of our bitter experience during the maiden election into the Council. This time around it is going to be cash for cash aside for the fact that we have individual and corporate members ahead of all others and in particular individual members".
He also warned the members bitterly against ethnic sentiments adding that whoever that is caught would be expelled from the association.
"Please refer to the pronouncement by the Founder of NAGAFF Dr. Boniface Okechukwu Aniebonam with regard to membership of any other sub-element and/or ethnic freight forwarding association in Nigeria. The import of this message is that the leadership of NAGAFF shall not tolerate ethnic divides in NAGAFF management and administration. And for emphasis, it is the right of every NAGAFF member under the Nigerian constitution, to be a member of any association of his/her choice. However, it shall lead to expulsion of any NAGAFF member who for whatever reason initiates a discussion of Odua/Igbo/Arewa dichotomy while being a member of NAGAFF and or officer of NAGAFF", the statement warned members.
