As elections into the chapter executives of the National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) draw near, the association has urged its female members to ensure that they participate fully in the election which is billed to hold in 2018.
The association made this appeal when NAGAFF Electoral Commission (NECOM) led by its Chairman, Mr. Okey Nerus paid a sensitization visit to the Ports & Terminal Multipurpose Limited (PTML) chapter of the association earlier in the week.
Chairman of the NAGAFF NECOM said that the committee is working to ensure that the elections are conducted in a free and fair atmosphere, even as he promised that nobody would be disenfranchised in the elections, unless the person is qualified.
Addressing member of the association, he said:"The reason for our visit to PTML today is that we felt there was need for us to bring the gospel of NAGAFF election 2018 to all the chapters. In other to ensure that nobody is disqualified in the coming election, we have said that for you to vote and be voted for you must be a registered member of NAGAFF and you will have to present your bio data, that is the receipt that shows when you registered as a NAGAFF member in case is you don’t have NAGAFF identity card. You are also supposed to present CRFFN identity card because we want to key into CRFNN agenda, that is why we want to ensure that our members are following up with CRFFN".
Also speaking during the visit, a member of the association, Mrs. Uju Ezeugo advised women in the association to participate fully in the election.
"I want to use this opportunity to advise the women in this profession to participate fully in the coming election as this is their opportunity to make their mark in the coming election"
Meanwhile, the PTML chapter chairman of the association, Mr. George Okafor while receiving the chapters' register from the committee, promised to ensure a free fair election in 2018. He also charged his members to ensure that they abide by the rules governing the election.
