Mr Benjamin Binga, the Area Comptroller, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Minna on Monday.
The command supervises Niger, Kogi and Kwara offices of the service
He said already, proactive security measures to check the activities of smugglers had been put in place.
He also said that steps had been taking to meet the revenue target of the area command which was N2.8 billion for the year.
He said that already well trained armed security personnel had been deployed to identified smugglers’ routes to ensure their arrest and prosecution.
” Our area of supervision is prohibited to any kind of smuggling business because well-trained personnel had been stationed to prevent the illegal business,” he said.
He solicited the support of communities in the border areas to volunteer information that would assist the officers in discharging their duties effectively.
