Three stowaways were on Tuesday docked at an Apapa Magistrate court for illegally boarding a ship.
The accused are: Henry Elumezie, John Eje and Samson Erukubami.
According to the Police, the accused are standing trial on a two-count charge bordering on conspiracy and boarding a vessel without buying a ticket.
The Police Prosecutor, Sergeant Adeniyi Balogun, told the court that the suspects committed the offences on the 7th of January 2019 at Tin Can Island port, Apapa.
According to the prosecutor, the accused; Henry Elumezie, John Eje, Samson Erukubami and others at large, on the 7th of January 2019 at Tin Can Island Port in Apapa Magistrates district, did conspire together to commit and offence to wit misdemeanor"
"That you on the same time, date and place in the aforementioned magisterial district, without purchasing tickets or being a passenger of a ship, entered MV GLOVIS CENTURY VESSEL with the intention of travelling to Europe", he added.
Balogun also said that the offences are punishable under sections 412 and 400 of the criminal laws of Lagos state of Nigeria 2015.
All the accused pleaded guilty to the charges
The Magistrate, Mr. M.O Olubi, adjourned the case till 16 January 2019 for hearing and sentence.
