Two men, Ndubuisi Ebube and Ndubuisi Joshua, were on Monday arraigned before an Apapa Magistrates court for vandalising a car belonging to a female clearing agent.
The defendants, Ebube and Joshua are facing a four count charge bordering on conspiracy, vandalising, threat to life and unlawful conduct.
The Prosecutor, Sergent Onaiwu Iyabosa, said that the defendants committed the offences on the 24th day of August 2018 at about 9pm at No 2 Comfort Street, Maza Maza, in Apapa magisterial district.
The charge sheet read in part :"That you and others now at large do willfully and unlawfully destroyed one Hyundai black colour car with REG, SMK 761 CK, valued at N2.5million property of one Ogbere Ngozi.
According to the prosecutor, the defendants also threatened to eliminate the life of the complainant.
"That you and others now at large threatened to eliminate the life of one Ogbere Ngozi
"You conducted yourselves in a manner that is likely to cause a breach of peace by inviting some hoodlums to attack one Ogbere Ngozi
Sergeant Onaiwu, said that the offences are punishable under sections, 411, 350, 56 and 168(d) of the criminal laws of Lagos state 2015.
The defendants pleaded not committing the offences brought against them
The Magistrate, Mr. O.S Abioye granted the defendants bail in the sum of N100,000 each, with two sureties in like sum
He also said that the sureties who must be gainfully employed must also furnish the court with evidence of tax payment.
According to him, the sureties will also provide a full photograph and address which will be verified by the court.
The case was adjourned till 18th of February 2019 for mention.
