A 55-year old man; Muhammed Umoru and 31-year old Ezeokafor Ifeanyichukwu, have been brought before and Apapa Magistrates courts for stealing and receiving stolen goods worth, N5, 529, 200 belonging to Joedone International limited.
The defendants are facing a three count charge bordering on conspiracy receiving stolen goods and stealing.
The prosecutor, Sergeant Onaiwu Iyabosa, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on the 5th of August and 27th of September 2018 at about 5pm on Okoduwa street, Kirikiri town in Apapa, Lagos.
The charge sheet read in part: “That you did conspire among yourselves to commit felony to with stealing and receiving stolen property”
“That you did steal 199 bundles of expanded metal mesh valued, N1,910,400, 548cartons of A4copier paper valued, N3,288,000, 2cartons of JD ROY Thinner and Tiger fix valued N17,600 all totaling N5,529,200 properties of Joedone International limited”

According to the prosecutor, the offences are punishable under sections, 411, 287 and 328 of the criminal laws of Lagos state of Nigeria 2015.
The Magistrate, Mr. O.S Abioye granted the defendants bail in the sum of N300, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
He also added that the sureties who should furnish the court with evidence of two years tax payment to Lagos state must be gainfully employed with their photograph and office address which will be verified by the court.
The magistrate however adjourned the case till 11th of February 2019 for mention .
