Barring any last minute change of programme, the Nigerian Shippers’ Council will today carry out a final inspection of the facilities at the Kaduna Dry Port.
Confirming the inspection to our correspondent in Lagos on Monday, the Executive Secretary of the Council, Mr Hassan Bello said that, the Kaduna-based dry port is ready for commissioning.
He added that what he and some top members of the Council will be doing today is to ascertain the level of readiness and ascertain the readiness of the port to take-off.
Bello also assured that all hands have been on deck to ensure that the Dry Port becomes operational soon.
We are going to Kaduna tomorrow (today) to see how far the concessionaires have gone with the facilities. We know that they have been working hard to ensure that the port is commissioned.
He confirmed that the Federation of International Federation of Freight Forwarders Association (FIATA) is about to recognising the Kaduna Dry port as port of destination.
