A middle-aged truck driver, Christian Odogwu, was on Wednesday arraigned before an Apapa magistrates court for driving without a driver’s license.
According to the Prosecutor; Inspector Dorathy Egonu, the driver of the truck with the registration number, Lagos JJJ 123 XE “drove in such a reckless manner thereby causing obstruction for other road users”, he added that the defendant committed the offence at Kirikiri road, Kirikiri town in the Apapa magisterial district.
The defendant according to her is facing a two count charge on reckless driving and driving without driver’s license.
The prosecutor also said that the offences are punishable under section 40(1) and 22 of road traffic act 2003.
The defendant, Christian pleaded not guilty to the offence.
The magistrate, Mr. B.M Amore granted the defendant bail in the sum of N20, 000 with two sureties who must reside in Lagos.
He said that the sureties must provide evidence of tax payment to Lagos state government.
The case was adjourned till 25th March 2019 for mention.
