A 37year old truck driver, Godswill Orji, was on Wednesday arraigned before an Apapa magistrates court for stealing N180, 000 in Apapa.
The Prosecutor , Sargent Onaiwu Iyabosa, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on the 28th of March 2019 at about 4pm at Jakande Trailer Park, Berger Suya, Olodi Apapa on the Apapa Oshodi expressway.
She said that the money belongs to one Donatus Ejiofor who is a truck owner.
He said that the offence is punishable under section 287(7) of the criminal laws of Lagos state 2015.
The defendant Godswill who is facing a one count charge of stealing denied committing the offence.
The Magistrate Mr. OS Abioye granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100, 000 with two registered sureties in the like sum.
He also said that the sureties will provide evidence of tax payment to the Lagos state government.
The Magistrate added that the defendant who must be gainfully employed must furnish the court with his passport photograph.
The case was adjourned till 6th of May 2019.
