Two brothers and one other person have been arraigned before an Apapa magistrate’s court for stealing two Korean heavy duty batteries valued at N74, 000.
They are : Chika Obi , Sunday Michael Emeka and Sunday Anthony Okwor , they are are facing a two count charge bordering on conspiracy and stealing.
Sergeant Marvelous Obongha, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on the 22nd day of February 2019 at Apapa magisterial district.
He also said that the properties belong to Adolphus Ozuruigbo.
The charge sheet read in part: “That you at about 0200hours on the 21st day of February 2019 at Happy Home Avenue, Kirikiri town in Apapa magisterial district did conspire among yourself and thereby committed an offence”
According to the Police prosecutor, the accused “did steal two Korean heavy duty batteries valued at N74, 000 property of one Adolphus Ozuruigbo”.
The Prosecutor said that the offences are punishable under sections, 411 and 287 of the criminal laws of Lagos state 2015.
The defendants denied committing the offences brought against them.
The Magistrates, Mrs. Mrs. KA Ariyo, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N50, 000 with two sureties who must furnish the court with proof of tax payment to Lagos state government.
According to her, one of the sureties must be a Pastor.
