The National President, National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarder, Mr. Oluwole Adeyemi has said one of his major focus is to ensure that members of the association are trained effectively on the use of Information Technology Communication (ICT) in course of discharging their duties.
Oluyemi said this while speaking with journalists recently in his office in Lagos, even as he stated that plans are on going to work with some international organisations to achieve that purpose.
The new NAGAFF president noted that the association will also work with FIATA and other internationally known ICT outfit for the aim of boosting capacity of members.
He said with ICT knowledge will increase the scope of their operations, adding that empowerment of members through such scheme is key for freight forwarding growth.
Oluwole further disclosed that one of the ways of achieving this, is through an annual fee payment by members adding that an annual fee which will range between N5,000 to N10,000 will be paid by members.
He also explained that such monies will be used for the funding of the ICT project and other needs of the association.
"To boost capacity for members through ICT involvement of international professional associations and ensuring that we visit our constitution to make sure that token is paid by us to be channelled into useful project will be my focal point".
The new NAGAFF boss said part of strategies put in place by the current executives is to work closely with government agencies that can impact positively in the area of capacity building, adding that support and assistance for such institutions will enhance the association’s quest in building capacity.
According to him, ICT knowledge for members will create a more robust and business-minded orientation for international relationship.
