The Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) has alleged that the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) was polluting its training mandate with politics.
Special Assistant to ANLCA President Prince Olayiwola Shittu on Technical Matters; Mr. Francis Omotosho told Shipping Position Daily in Lagos recently that the collaboration between the CRFFN and the Redeemers University to train freight forwarders is laudable.
He however said that the training has been politicized and that the institutions that should be accredited to provide the training are also being politicized.
He advised that the leadership of the CRFFN led by its Registrar, Sir. Mike Jukwe should accredit more institutions for training and to ensure that more freight forwarders are trained.
He said “CRFFN is just coming up when it comes to training, they have a challenge of funding and apart from this, they mix up the issue of training with politics”
“The issue of training is not politics, it should be straight training and the whole objective is to give people knowledge, when you mix it with politics you will not get any result”
“You train the right people, equip them with the right knowledge and capacity, it is not in your position to be politicizing, if you do this you cannot get any capacity building done”
“It is a welcomed development (Redeemers University and CRFFN) the CRFFN is coming up, they have accredited so many institutions in freight forwarding. They should accredit more universities and train more people” Omotosho advised.
