A maritime capacity building institution; Crown Maritime Academy has said that it does not have a new Registrar and that it only has an acting registrar in person of Mrs.T.E.Onukwu.
Rector of Coastal Maritime Academy, Dr. Musa Akinyemi stated this in a mail sent to Shipping Position Daily in reaction to an identity mix-up, in a story written by one of our correspondents and published in our edition of February 11, 2019.
In the report, one Mr. Gabriel Eto Registrar of 'Coastal Polytechnic, Magbon Lagos' was erroneously described as Registrar of Crown Maritime Academy.
Eto had spoken at an event organised by the Economic Summit Group at the Rockview Hotels Apapa Lagos, where he lamented that students coming out of Coastal Polytechnic find it hard to get places for their industrial attachments in the maritime sector.
To this, Dr Akinyemi in the mail corrected that Gabriel Eto is not Registrar of 'Crown Maritime Academy (CMA)' and that the academy has no new or another Registrar other than its Acting Registrar, Mrs.T.E.Onukwu.
The truth is that Crown Maritime Academy, CMA did not grant any press interview at the Nigerian Maritime Economic Summit held recently at Rockview Hotel, Apapa, Lagos", he noted.
