The Port Harcourt Refinery Company (PHRC) says about 800 truckloads of kerosene leave Port Harcourt Refinery every day.
The Managing Director of the company, Dr Bafred Enjugu Dr Enjugu who spoke last week at a media roundtable in Port Harcourt, said about 1,200 truckloads were loaded daily last year, that the figure reduced to 800 trucks because of production challenges.
He blamed the present scarcity of kerosene to market forces which determines the price and availability of the product.
Dr Enjugu said the plants at the refinery were currently producing kerosene, petrol and diesel, explaining that the refining complex comprised both old and new refinery.
