In a statement recently, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, announced plan to bring down the price of the LPG in the country. It said it would implement effective commercial framework that would halt the export of propane and butane, major components in the production of the LPG or cooking gas.
The corporation explained that the stoppage of the export of the products, which is anchored by its Crude Oil Marketing Division, would enable it boost supply of LPG to the domestic market thereby leading to a natural downward slide in the price of the product.
