Barely two weeks after it first redeployed about eight Assistant Comptroller Generals (ACG) and twenty two Area Controllers, among whom were Area Controllers of commands, the Nigeria Customs Service has again redeployed Controllers from two of his major commands; Seme Border and Muritala Muhammed International Airport command.
Even though details of the redeployment were still sketchy as at press time, Shipping Position Daily gathered that the Seme Border Command Controller, Mr. Willy Egbudin and his Muritala Muhammed Airport counterpart, Garba Ndalati has been moved.
An inside source within the customs confirmed to our correspondent exclusively that Controller Tajudeen Olanrewaju has been drafted from the Customs Intelligent Unit at the headquarters in Abuja to head the Airport command.
Olanrewaju was recently transfered to head the Customs Investigative Unit (CIU) at the headquarters after he had headed the Tin Can Island Command and the PTML command for few months.
However, when he was contacted yesterday by our correspondent, Image Maker of the Seme Border command, Mr. Earnest Olota feigned ignorance of the redeployment.
He told our correspondent that "As I speak to you now my CAC is still very much at the command, I am not aware of any redeployment"
In the last redeployment exercise which was reported two weeks ago by Shipping Position Daily, it was gathered that Customs Comptroller General, Dikko Abdullahi Inde was not satisfied with the performances of the affected officers.
Our correspondent learnt that he had, in March 2014 passed a letter to all the affected officers, directing them to give reasons why they must continue to remain at their posting.
A reliable source within the service told our correspondent that the Customs boss was not satisfied by the officers’ performances, particularly, he was disappointed that they have not done much in meeting the revenue target of the service.
