A cross section of tokunboh vehicle dealers who spoke with Auto Port Weekly last week noted that the first quarter of 2014 has not put smiles on their faces due to the lull in sales.
A dealer, Mazi Chuks Aloysius attributed the poor sales of used vehicles to the economic situation in the country.

A dealer, Mazi Chuks Aloysius attributed the poor sales of used vehicles to the economic situation in the country.
The dealer revealed that from January to April, the sales of vehicles at Berger automobile market have remained low, lamenting that most dealers are not comfortable with the situation.
He noted that sale of used vehicles is no longer what it used to be in the time past, adding many people have retired from the business.
Speaking further, the automobile trader explained that importers are no longer interested in the business due to low sales recorded in recent time.
In a similar reaction, another dealer; Mr. Frank Udenze allayed fear over low sale, even as he affirmed that the business is no longer as lucrative as it used to be.
He also said that prices of used vehicles have not changed and there are indications that the price may fall following low patronage this festive season.
At the various automobile sales outlets at Festac Town, the story remained the same as the dealers expressed disappointment over low sales.
