The Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) is set to strengthen its enforcement capacity through a strategic partnership with the Nigeria Police Force.
During a recent visit to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. Kayode Egbetokun, at the Force Headquarters, Abuja, CRFFN’s Registrar/CEO, Mr. Kingsley Igwe, unveiled plans to collaborate with the Police in the training and capacity building of its Enforcement Officers.
Mr. Igwe explained that the initiative would enhance operational effectiveness, ensure better regulatory compliance, and promote transparency within the freight forwarding industry. He stressed that the involvement of security agencies remains crucial in protecting the integrity of Nigeria’s logistics and supply chain sector.
Responding, IGP Egbetokun threw his weight behind the proposal, describing it as a step in the right direction. He assured CRFFN of the Police Force’s support in building a more professional and accountable enforcement framework within the sector.
The Police Chief also commended the Council’s renewed commitment to professionalism and stakeholder engagement, noting that stronger collaboration between the two institutions would contribute significantly to national development.
The visit concluded with mutual recognition and a symbolic plaque presentation, underscoring the commitment of both bodies to a sustained partnership.
