Crown Maritime Academy Reveals Plans For 2016 As 11 Students Graduates

A privately-owned institute; Crown Maritime Academy (CMA) has revealed what it has in stock academically for the 2016.

The academy said that in the first quarter 2016, the current governing council board members will increase from five to seven.

Registrar of CMA; Mr Musa Akinyemi disclosed this during the school's 3rd convocation and 1st Passing Out parade (POP) in Lagos recently, even as he reiterated that the institute will admit students directly to study nautical science, marine engineering and shipping management.

The academy said that in the first quarter 2016, the current governing council board members will increase from five to seven.

Registrar of CMA; Mr Musa Akinyemi disclosed this during the school's 3rd convocation and 1st Passing Out parade (POP) in Lagos recently, even as he reiterated that the institute will admit students directly to study nautical science, marine engineering and shipping management.

Akinyemi also pointed out that the title of the Registrar shall be changed to that of Rector, adding that it will commence from the beginning of the second term.

The CMA boss also disclosed that the institute is now a full-fledged merchant navy school, noting that it remains resolute to revive maritime education in the nation.

"Since all the members of the current board have served only in honorary capacity and have all done so meritoriously , they all are recommendable for another term whilst the Registrar shall become the Rector from the beginning of the second term and current Rector becomes vice chairman of the academic and governing board”, he stated.

"Crown Maritime Academy shall be admitting direct marine engineering, nautical science and shipping management candidates from the next academic year 2016 and 2017’’.

Akinyemi however affirmed that it will work harder in collaboration with the ministry of education to maintain a more harmonious relationship with the Commonwealth education partnership in London.

Meanwhile a total of11 students graduated from the academy .
