The automobile dealers confirmed to Auto Port Weekly that buyers of used cars settle for such brands because of the deplorable condition of the roads in Nigeria.
According to them, Nissan Pathfinder and Xterra are commonly sought after by buyers, while Toyota Highlander, Mitsubishi Montero and Lexus R300 all made the list of SUV sold this season.
Mr. Frank Onuigbo explained that the sales of SUV's can be attributed to the rainy season and the bad roads in the state.
Apart from that, the importer added that such vehicles are durable in Nigeria because of their height.
To corroborate the importer’s point, Mr. Victor Nduka said that SUVs recorded good sales because "the cost of such cars is not that high, when compared to a good salon car and that is why I believe people go for them"
