The coalition of freight forwarders also lampooned the national president of Association of Nigeria Licensed Agents (ANLCA); Prince Olayiwola Shittu for the association’s recant of its esrleir support for the collection.

Against the backdrop of the Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) directing its members last week to suspend all ongoing discussion with the CRFFN, other registered freight forwarding associations, namely: NAGAFF, AREFFN, NAFFAC and NCMDLCA promised to rally support for the CRFFN without further daily.
They declared yesterday at joint press briefing that: "The practising freight forwarders in the council objected to the subventious arrangement, it was agreed that subventions be represented by percentage and the committee was asked to reconvene and negotiate an agreed percentage to be represented".
The four associations presidents agreed unanimously to ensure that the council to goes ahead with the implementation and enforcement of the fee.
Leading the pack of freight forwarding associations, National President of NAGAFF, Chief Eugene Nweke citing the joint statement signed by the presidents and made available to the newsmen yesterday said that "we want to unequivocally, reaffirm our unflinching , continuous support and loyalty to the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria through our unbiased regulatory council"
"We hereby call on CRFFN to go ahead with the implementation and enforcement of the Practitioners Operating Fee (POF) collection without further delay and to strongly sustain its tireless efforts, quest to positively reform, restructure, empower the freight forwarding profession in Nigeria and align it to the global comity of freight forwarding nation, via the enthronement of professional regulatory function.
Nweke said that there is need for the four associations to understand that the quest can only be achieved only through an official grant or an approval via executive circular.
He added that the federal government in its wisdom, for the purpose of revenue generation of the nation armed the CRFFN with a directive that government should retain 65% while 35% be set aside for the accredited associations internal research and development programme.
The NAGAFF boss said that the move by ANLCA to urge its members to distance themselves from collection of the fee simply shows how greedy they are.
The freight forwarding coalition group stressed that it will support the CRFFN's registrar because he does not run a close door policy.
Also speaking the founder of NAGAFF, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam urged the association’s presidents to champion the course in ensuring that the CRFFN succeed in its quest to collect POF.
The NAGAFF founder described ANCLA's action as mere blackmail urging the four associations to work together to achieve a common goal.
He noted that it is a shame on the part of the four associations for a single group to hold them to ransom, stressing that collection of the fee squarely lays in the hands of the four associations
Those that attended the briefing are: President General of NAFFAC, C.A.T Agubamah , AREFFN President Chief, Frank Ukor NCMDLCA , Chief Festus Ejiofor,and NAGAFF leaders.
