The immediate past Customs Area Comptroller (CAC) in charge of Ports and Terminal Multi- Service Ltd. (PTML), Mr Zakari Jubrin, has said that diligence and commitment were necessary for improved public service delivery.
Jubrin said this while handing over to the new Controller of the command; Mr Tajudeen Olanrewaju, who coincidentally, is also handing over to Jubrin at Tin Can Port command. Comptroller Olanrewaju was three months ago drafted to the Tin Can Island.
Jubrin urged the officers of the command to be diligent in the discharge of their duties and support the new command’s leadership.
“Eight months ago when I was introduced, the CAC then, Mr Olatunj Aremu, told me that I was going to enjoy the support of dedicated officers.
“I solicited their cooperation and they gave me their 100 per cent support. If I have my way, I will ask to take them along with me,’’ Jubrin said.
He urged the officers to extend the same support to Olanrewaju.
In his response, Olanrewaju said that transfers were statutory in the Service.
“Fulfilling our mandate is a team work: one person cannot do it alone. The success and failure of the CAC will be that of all the officers, “ Olanrewaju said.
He urged the officers to eschew corruption; take on responsibilities to affect society positively and work to achieve the command’s set goals.
Also at the Apapa command, Umar Mohammed swapped with Charles Edıke of the Murıtala Muhammed International Airport command. Umar now heads MMA command while Edıke has moved to the Apapa premier port as controller.
