Ibine Takes Over As New Commissioner Of Police, Eastern Ports Command

Mr Ebojune   Ibine has taken over as the new Commissioner of Police (CP), in charge of Eastern Ports Command. He takes over from Mr James Caulcrick, who has since been redeployed to Lagos.
Mr Ibine’s appointment followed minor shake-up at the Police Headquarters in Abuja.
Until his redeployment to the Nigerian Ports Authority Eastern Ports, Mr Ebojune  Ibine  was the Provost Marshal at the Force Headquarters Abuja, where he was in charge of discipline and general cleanliness at the Force Headquarters.

In an interview our correspondent at his office at the premises of Port Harcourt Port,  Mr Ibine  acknowledged that the new assignment is challenging, but noted that because he had been a general Duty Police Officer, he will adjust to the new realities.
“The new work is a challenge, but let me inform you that I’m poise to adequately secure the maritime environment of all the ports in my command’’, Mr Ebojune Ibine assured.
He assured that he would not compromise in the area of professionalism and will insist on proper discipline of all officers and men of his command.
He also assured members of the public, particularly the maritime industry stakeholders of cooperation between them and police across all the ports under his jurisdiction. “Under my watch, we shall emphasize on community policing and fundamental human right of all Nigerians’’, he stated.
He however advised that, “Let every player operate within the ambit of the law, to enhance trade and commerce and facilitate international trade at the Eastern Ports’’, just as he warned miscreants, especially wharf rats operating across Port Harcourt, Onne, Warri and Calabar Ports to keep off, insisting that the full weight of the law will fall on them if they are caught.
‘’ I want to warn wharf rats and mischief makers to desist from crime in all our Eastern Ports, or expect the worst times’’, he stated.
