The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), says it is collaborating with Federal Government agencies to check its members engaging in sharp practices in the daily distribution of petroleum products nationwide.
The National President of IPMAN, Mr Chinedu Okoronkwo, gave the warning in an interview with newsmen in Lagos last week.
Okoronkwo said the association had agreed with the Ministry of Trade and Investment and Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) to seal any filling station found engaging in sharp practises.

Okoronkwo said the association had agreed with the Ministry of Trade and Investment and Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) to seal any filling station found engaging in sharp practises.
According to him, IPMAN has inaugurated a task force saddled with visiting petrol stations unannounced to checkmate members involved in sharp practises.
“We have mandated the task force to seal any station found selling the product above the pump price and under dispensing petroleum products to customers,” he said.
The president said that any member found dispensing outside the tolerable error margin would be sanctioned and summoned to the headquarters for explanation.
Okoronkwo said that the inspection was meant to ensure that marketers exhibited integrity, fairness and accuracy while dispensing petroleum products to customers.
“This is to ensure ways to protect consumers by ensuring that they always get the right measure or quantity for their money.
“It is extremely disappointing that motorists are being short-changed.
“We will not relent in our official duty to ensure that proper things are done,’’ he said.
