The leadership of the Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria (MWUN) on Wednesday played host to the management of Greenview Development Nigeria Limited, in a high-level solidarity visit aimed at strengthening labour-management relations.
Led by its General Manager, Mr. Yakubu Abdullahi, the Greenview delegation visited the MWUN Secretariat in Olodi Apapa, Lagos, in a show of goodwill and alignment with the new administration of Comrade Francis Bunu Abi, the union’s recently-elected President-General.
During the meeting, Mr. Abdullahi congratulated Comrade Bunu on his resounding electoral victory, pledging Greenview’s full support for his leadership, which he described as “labour-friendly” and committed to promoting the welfare of maritime workers.
In response, Comrade Bunu expressed appreciation for the visit, noting that the MWUN values its longstanding relationship with Greenview and is committed to deepening mutual collaboration. He emphasized the Union’s unwavering focus on protecting workers’ rights and welfare, urging Greenview to sustain its “workers’ inclusiveness” policy as a model for others in the industry.
“The welfare of workers remains non-negotiable,” Bunu declared. “We expect Greenview to remain proactive in addressing workers’ concerns and setting the pace in corporate responsibility within the maritime sector.”
