
The National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), has appointed Dr Shehu Ahmad as the new Interim Chairman of Kebbi chapter, following the resignation of the pioneer State Chairman, Alhaji Muhammad Na-Hali.
The appointment was announced in a statement issued on Wednesday in Birnin Kebbi by the Kebbi Publicity Secretary of NAGAFF, Mr Umar Faruk-Abdullahi.
According to the statement, Alhaji Na-Hali tendered his resignation to the association’s national headquarters in Lagos on Feb. 12, citing health challenges.
“Following the resignation of Alhaji Muhammad Na-Hali, the association has accepted his decision and approved the appointment of Dr Shehu Ahmad as Interim Chairman of the Kebbi chapter,” the statement said.
The association commended the outgoing chairman for his pioneering efforts in establishing and strengthening NAGAFF’s operations in Kebbi.
“His leadership laid a solid foundation for the growth and coordination of freight forwarding activities in the state.
“NAGAFF members in the state also offer prayers for his speedy recovery and express optimism that the new interim chairman will build on the achievements recorded under his predecessor.
“The association has also conferred on the outgoing chairman the position of Patron of the association in the state in recognition of his foresight and exemplary leadership,” it added.
The statement further said that Dr Ahmad is expected to steer the affairs of the association from Feb. 12 to Sept. 12, pending the expiration of the tenure of the current executive leadership in the state.
“We commend the leadership of NAGAFF at the national level for its support and its decision to appoint Dr Ahmad to chair the association in the state,” it added.
