The National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF) has dissolved it's National Executive Council led by Chief Eugene Nweke, even as indications have emerged that the association is shopping for a new president.
Reliable sources within the association told Shipping Position Daily yesterday that two names from the Muritala Muhammed Airport chapter are already being peddled to take over the position; one is Mr. Oluwole, the association's Deputy President, and Mr. Segun Musa the current chairman at airport.
Secretary to the board of trustees of NAGAFF, Mr. Dipo Olayoku stated in a press release that was sent to our correspondent that the move to dissolve the NEC was to enable the association restructure, reform and enhance administrative competence.
Olayoku said that NAGAFF is aware that money-bags in other sister associations were trying to penetrate NAGAFF in order to cause destabilization.
Also, the BOT has given approval for the constitution of the new NEC immediately to avoid a vacuum.
According to the association, any NAGAFF member who has attended the approved executive mandatory courses of the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) and/or having a minimum qualification of first degree or its equivalent from any higher Institution is eligible to take up responsibility in the Association.
