The Director of publicity, NCMDLCA, Mr. Festus Ukwu made this known during a chat with Shipping Position Daily correspondent in Lagos last week, adding that the seminar will commence around June this year.
According to Ukwu, the Ejiorfor faction of the council would have since commenced the training, but for the court case between the two factions; the Mr. Lucky Amiwero and the Mr. Festus Ejiofor factions.
“These things have been in the forefront, but because of the court cases here and there, and the crises that are on, but I thank God that everything is almost getting proper, and I believe that from now till March, when everything must have stabilized, so by June we will now come up with an enlightenment, seminar and training on how to improve certain things in the industry”.
He added that the sensitization seminar will border on the import environment and some other sundry issues which members of the association and other port users need to acquaint themselves with.
He explained that since the council has been accredited by the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarders in Nigeria (CRFFN), the training will be in affiliation with one of the institutions endorsed by the CRFFN.
According to him, learning is a continuous process and the association has decided to take the bull by the horn in educating people as regards the trend in the Industry.
