NCMDLCA Congratulates New IGP Tunji Disu, Urges Enhanced Security at Ports, Borders

The National Council of Managing Directors of Licensed Customs Agents (NCMDLCA) has congratulated the newly-appointed Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu, describing his emergence as well-deserved and timely amid the nation’s prevailing security challenges.

In a statement issued by its President, Chief Ifeanyi Anakweze, on behalf of the Council’s Executive Committee members, the body commended the appointment made by Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The Council noted that the IGP’s maturity and professionalism stood him out for the top policing role, expressing confidence in his ability to strengthen the country’s security architecture.

According to the NCMDLCA, the appointment comes at a critical time when intensified efforts are required to address security concerns across the country, particularly in border communities and other volatile areas. The Council urged the new police chief to deploy intelligence-driven strategies to combat insurgency and criminal activities, especially in regions housing security threats.
