Line aims to build on country's still-buoyant economy with new feeder loop
Taiwanese ocean carrier Evergreen Line this week launched a new feeder service in the eastern Mediterranean.
Offering an improved 10-day service loop from Evergreen’s hub port of Piraeus, the enhancement is targeting the Turkish consumer where the still relatively buoyant economy is expected to grow by up to 4% in 2013 – in contrast to most other Mediterranean countries.

The first sailing of Evergreen’s GTM service was performed by the 600teu Kirsten on Monday ex-Piraeus.
After leaving Piraeus, the Kirsten calls at the Greek port of Thessaloniki, Gebze in Turkey (50km east of Istanbul) and Marsaxlokk, Malta, before arriving back at the Piraeus hub.
